Hua Hin in Thailand is a great holiday destination for golfers looking for good value golf on some of the finest courses in Thailand.
The Hua Hin golf scene is growing and with the outstanding service and superb facilities it is quickly becoming the destination of choice due to its affordability in comparison to other Asian countries.
Some of the best quality and value for money can be found at the Sawang Resort & Golf Course. Located outside of Hua Hin it is less busy than the courses based in the resort itself.
A superb layout of 27 holes designed by Isao Katsumata, the course offers generous fairways which are often tree lined and strategically placed water hazards to provide enough of a test for the lower handicap golfer to enjoy.
Set amongst the rolling hills and rice fields Sawang is a peaceful getaway with some interesting and challenging holes. The East-South course combination is probably the favoured sets of 9 to make up the 18 holes, but you will not be disappointed with any of the holes.
Closer to Hua Hin, but still out of the main resort is the Majestic Creek Golf Club & Resort. Again, the course boasts 27 holes and plenty of challenges.
Currently undergoing a major renovation, including re-laying greens and improving the facilities at every turn, Majestic Creek is looking to a very bright future. For many the A and B courses are the best, but the beauty and planned improvements to the C course will make for 3 loops of 9 beautifully crafted holes.
At Springfield Resort, another 27 holes await and they are individually superb. The A Course or Mountain 9 are set against the backdrop of the mountains the views are spectacular and the design of the holes only add to the beauty of this golf course.
The B Course, The Lakes is abound with water as the name suggests, but, play sensibly and you will be eagerly awaiting the challenge of the 9th hole, a short par five which plays to an island green.
The C Course – The Valley course is set amongst the trees and is more intimate that the other two courses. Water comes into play here almost more so than on the lake course, but it is a very pleasant course to play.
It is hard to choose the best loops here, but due to the reasonable prices you should make that decision yourself.
For those looking to step out of the airport and onto the course the minute they arrive in Hua HIn, the choice is obvious. Just 8 minutes away from the international airport is the Palms Hills golf course. An environmentally sensitive 18-hole golf course sits in beautiful landscape with rolling fairways, well positioned water hazards and bunkers and lush greens make for a wonderful experience. Designed by Max Wexler, the course is perfect for every level of golfer which is testament to the design. Clubhouse facilities are superb.
